AutoPLAN 2.5 is an architectural plan generating program for AutoCAD and IntelliCAD. AutoPLAN 2.5 consists of hundreds of parametric AutoLISP routines and a large symbol library to make creating construction documents a breeze. AutoPLAN 2.5 was developed by users for users. We believe that the drafting process should be as simple and as painless as possible. If you are looking to spend a lot of time on a set of plans, then call the other guys. Or you can follow the plans below drawn by my six year old son, Kyle.
But if what you need is a way to produce quality construction documents in record time, then AutoPLAN 2.5 is the answer!
Product Features
- Parametric Walls, Doors and
Windows:
By creating the walls, doors and windows parametrically, AutoPLAN 2.5 gives the user total control of the finished product. AutoPLAN 2.5 does not insert blocks to create these objects, but rather allows the user to specify the sizes and styles himself. A door or windows is created in about15-20 seconds with minimal prompts, no confusing and time consuming dialog box. Doors and windows can be edited, replaced, moved, copied or mirrored with ease.
- Multi-Level Support:
AutoPLAN 2.5 supports multiple floor levels within a single drawing file which creates a virtual model of the building. AutoPLAN 2.5 supports up to 101 separate floor levels, and displays any desired level instantly. Objects can be copied or moved from level to level. Plus the user can create his own special levels as needed.
- Floor-Level Systems:
In addition to multiple floor levels, AutoPLAN 2.5 allows each level to contain multiple systems such as framing, electrical, plumbing, ceiling grid and HVAC. This means that each system will be "superimposed" on that floor level's geometry such as walls, doors and windows, thus decreasing the size of the file. Also, any changes made to the floor level are automatically reflected within each system on that level.
- AutoLayering:
Everything created in AutoPLAN 2.5 is automatically placed on the correct layer. Plus with the AutoWORX Layer Tools you can modify layers simply by point-n-click. The AutoCAD Layer dialog will become quite lonely!
- A complete program:
AutoPLAN 2.5 does not come in modules as do other programs. With AutoPLAN 2.5 you receive parametric routines for ceiling grid layout, column grids, structural steel, stairs, elevations, HVAC layout, electrical symbols, cabinetry, drawing symbols, title block setup, scale setup, new OSnaps, complete annotation tools and hundreds more, all for one low price!
- Speed:
We at AutoWorx Software believe that reducing drafting man hours while maintaining drawing integrity is essential to success in the architectural field. Many of the programs on the market today create a 3D model while the floor plan is drawn. This sounds nice, except:
- When you want quick floor plans, you must first answer questions concerning the elevations
- Usually the client changes the plan several times, thus forcing a change to the 3D model
- The model is in 3D, making editing difficult for most users
- Annotating a 3D model is just a thrill!
- Unless you can add fine details in 3D, the model elevations have a "plain" look
- After creating the model, you still have to create construction documents!
With AutoPLAN 2.5, we can create a contractor grade set of plans for a 2000 sq.ft. ranch style home in about 6 hours. The plans consist of the following:
- Cover sheet
- First floor plan
- All four elevations
- Foundation plan
- Framing plan
- Electrical plan
- Kitchen plan
- Wall section
3D models do have advantages over 2D, such as renderings and animations. But we feel that this is only needed a small portion of the time. When we need 3D, we draw the plans in AutoPLAN 2.5 and the 3D in Archillustrator, with the total time still less than other software. So, when you are dazzled by the promises of a 3D model for nothing, remember, nothing is free!
